"CELEBRATE HUMAN RIGHTS"
Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights."
So on Human Rights Day, we made it everyone's birthday - a celebration of what it means to be human.
It was an idea picked by the United Nations and resulted in being personally invited by then UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay to New York to attend the celebrations.
Apart from the event, we collaborated with Fantasy Interactive for the website build. We invited people to pick the human right they stood for and celebrate the day by blowing the candles through the microphones.
The campaign went viral and was picked up by major press and news channels. Contagious magazine wrote an article, donated and designed their cover with a balloon themed design.
We got YouTube sensation Pogo to crowdsource a video.
Instead of the usual press conference to mark the day, we created a hashtag #askrights and invited everyone to tweet their questions. Hosted by Al Jazeera journalist Imran Garda, Navi Pillay answered all the chosen questions, out of the 27 million, live for the first time. One notable tweeter was the author Paulo Coelho.
Being invited to the NYC UN Headquarters and queueing for a slice of cake with the world leaders is still one of our career highlights.
